Pause & Paws: Animal-Assisted Yoga and Meditation
Come join us at The Space VTA on Saturday, June 22nd at 11:30am as yoga instructor Sara Galdjie will be leading an all-levels yoga flow with her doggy assistant, Banjo. Blending the animal assisted therapy mindset into the yoga space, to help further calm your mind, body, and soul.
Animals have been incorporated into many healing practices because of the unconditional love, empathy, and whimsical spirit they possess. Interaction with animals and pets has been scientifically proven to lower blood pressure levels, naturally calm anxiety, as well as assist in overcoming depression in hospital patients.
What to expect: this yoga class is just like any regular one, but with a cute and fuzzy twist! Banjo is trained to visit each Yogi during this hour-long practice to help soothe, calm, and alleviate stress and anxiety. After class, stay and mingle with fellow students and your new bff Banjo.
This class is perfect for those students who are beginners to yoga, and might have reservations about trying something new. Banjo is in training to become a therapy animal, which means he is incredibly intuitive and intelligent. He loves his job, and his students, and he takes his work seriously; providing care to each person individually, specific to their needs.
All-levels are welcome! Beginners to advanced practitioners will be accommodated appropriately.
